The wife and I are looking forward to holidaying in the area next week. Two nights at a Guesthouse on Hadrians Wall followed by a week at Wooler.
I'm looking forward to visiting Flodden,Homildon Hill,Yeavering etc,etc.

re Visit

Hi Clive,
Thanks for the reply. We had a superb holiday including a visit to Flodden in glorious weather! The wife took a photo of me "trying" to pose with my Bow on the English ridge.

The repair at Etal Castle after a hole had been knocked through the wall so that the captured Scottish guns could be kept in safety was very interesting.

We look forward to visiting again in the future especially with the run up to the 500th Anniversary

Oggie,
There are two Battlefield Tours scheduled for the weekend of 12th /13 September. These will start from the Flodden Monument Car park at 2.00 pm each day. There will also be a talk at Branxton Villahe Hall on Friday 11th Sept at 7.00. This will be about the recent archaeology on Flodden Hill. If these do not fit in with your plans please phone me on 01890 820501 and we will see if we can arrange something.
