Flodden Weekend 11th - 13th September 2009

As part of the 2009 Heritage Open Days weekend, and to commemorate the 496th anniversary of the Battle of Flodden Field, the Remembering Flodden Project is putting on the following events:
Uncovering Flodden
A talk by County Archaeologist Chris Burgess on the recent archaeological dig on the site of James IV’s Camp on Flodden Hill.

Friday 11th September
7.30 pm
at
Branxton Village Hall

Entry Free, but donations welcomed.

This is the first in a series of planned talks organised by The Remembering Flodden Project to be presented during the run up to the 500th anniversary in September 2013 of the Battle of Flodden.

Come along and learn about the latest finds and research, and see how you can become involved in future projects


Flodden Battlefield Walks

2.00 pm 12th & 13th September
from the
Flodden Monument Car Park


Conducted tour along the Flodden Battlefield Trail with local historian Clive Hallam-Baker.


No charge, but donations towards the upkeep of the Battlefield Trail welcome
